Sarah Ganser

Sarah Ganser has more than 15 years of experience working with horses. She grew up in Pennyslvania, spending all of her free time at the farm she first learned to ride at, Timberland Acres. Sarah would do anything she could to be around the horses. She cleaned stalls, fed, groomed, helped with lessons, and led the 4-H club for several years... all in exchange for the opportunity to learn. She began showing huntseat, but quickly transitioned to western, which led her to a strong interest in showmanship and trail class.

Sarah attended college for several years, while continuing to work at nearby stables in her spare time, and on breaks. However, she ended up becoming more consumed with the equine aspect and decided to dedicate all of her time to pursuing it as a career. Sarah managed boarding stables for several years, during which time she met Rich and Becky Timmons. Rich was an up and coming cutting, reining and cowhorse trainer that leased stalls at a farm Sarah was managing. After spending some time riding with Rich and Becky, Sarah realized these were the types of horses she wanted to ride.

In 2006, Sarah relocated to North Carolina to manage a brand new boarding facility. On weekends, she drove to Southern Virginia to volunteer her time loping cutters for trainer, Tracy Barton. This time spent working directly with a trainer, helped Sarah make the decision to want to work for a training operation, where she could deal directly with the horses.

Sarah went to work as an assistant to reining trainers Brian Bell and Francois Gauthier. After about two years in NC, Sarah moved to Oklahoma, the heart of reining. She worked for trainer and NRHA judge, Jody Brainard for two years. Jody gave Sarah the opportunity to show, and also helped her learn a lot more about training horses for nonpro competition.  Sarah then moved back to NC in 2010 where she started to work for Mike as assistant trainer.
