Mike's assistant Peter DeFreitas rode 3 horses in the open futurity and had good runs on his own mare, Magnum Jag and Mary Jane Simpson's Nu Chexy. He did an excellent job with the big stopping gelding DRF Colonel Badger owned by Double Run Farm. He scored 216 twice to get 4th place in the Ltd Open Futurity and a paycheck of over $3000! Well done Peter! Melony Jackson rode her own mare, Lil Ruf Whiz Quiz in the Non Pro futurity and made it back to the finals in the Intermediate division. She had a good run in the finals on this big stopping mare to get Intermediate Non Pro Reserve Co-Champion earning a paycheck of over $10,700! Congratulations to Eilzabeth Cosper on your purchase of this sweet mare. Brandon Naples also rode and placed Jim O Neil's mare Smartys Centerfold in the Rookie Professional Affiliate Championships - well done to him and good luck to Scott Langford with your new purchase!

2006 saw Mike McEntire Reining Horses at the All American Quarter Horse
Congress.
SEPTEMBER 2006 Mike drove to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he showed the Great Guntini to a top 10 place in the Open futurity and Peter De Freitas showed Nu Chexy (pictures right) getting 3rd in the Ltd Open. Mike and his assistants also went to the Tradition show in Springfield, Ohio where Mike was Co Champion in the Open futurity with Tom and Sherry Sumpter's Miss Gunny. Brandon Naples rode Jim O Neil's 4 year old mare to reserve champion in the Rookie Affiliate Championship and Martin Audet rode Chris Neeld's Smarty Pep Whiskey to 3rd in Ltd Open Affiliate Championship. Both Martin and Brandon qualified their horses for the Championships in Oklahoma in November 2006 - well done to them and to the owners of these super nice horses.

MAY 2006 Mike makes it back to the finals at the Carolina Classic with 2 horses Shiners Q Nic and Smartys Timber Chex. He also made it back to the ABI finals with Bueno Chexolena where he finished reserve open champion. Congratulations to owners Montgomery Petty, Dr Jim O Neil and Creekside Stables. Mike placed 2nd in the Novice Horse Open on the son of Gunner, Gunnersaurus Rex for John Faullkner. Priscilla Jacquard has bought this fancy stud and will continue to show him in Europe. At the same show, our assistant Brandon Naples had a superb run on Chris Neeld's Baroom Jazz to win a very competitive Ltd Open class - good job Brandon! Tracy Showman, a member of our non pro team, won the rookie class on Sunday with her very nice mare, Kanosha Ten Whiz. Congratulations to Tracy and her husband Kevin and this awesome mare has now been bred to Dun Gotta Gun for a 2007 baby. APRIL 2006 saw Mike and his assistants head to the SERHA show at Williamston. Roi Yelin won the Ltd Open on the first day with Be Aech Godiva - well done! Martin Audet then won the ltd Open on Sunday with Priscilla Jacquard's Smarty Pep Whiskey. Mike placed 3rd in the Novice Horse Open on Marian Murray's pretty mare Roxana Chex and then 3rd on the 2nd day in the Novice on Gunnersaurus Rex for John Faulkner. Nathalie showed her orphan Junior Jazzman to a place in the Ltd Non Pro increasing this horse's earnings to just under $1700 NRHA. Well done to everyone and thanks for all your help from our assistants and our non pro team! MARCH 2006 Mike competed at Gordyville, Illinois in the $5000 added USEF qualifier. Mr Boomerjac and Mike competed for the first time together and scored a 227.5 to win against some very competitive older horses. Congratulations to Mike and Mr Boomerjac and thanks to Bob LaPorta for allowing Mike to show this outstanding horse FEBRUARY 2006 Mike drove south to Jacksonville for the Florida show and placed 2nd in the Open Derby on Allen Dick's pretty son of Rooster, Gallolena Rio. Martin Audet also placed 2nd in the Ltd Open Derby on Peter and Denise Lane's mare Chex Out This Action. This mare has now flown to the UK to continue her career in Europe.
